Incredible _--- A must book to have

In receveing this book , It comes with a flim strip , Held it up to the light , It was from Dr. NO I must say how please I am , 15 pounds . filled every Bond movie ever made , from Dr, No to Skyfall. This book is a true must to have it may be over $100.00 , But it is well worth it . I never had or saw a book so well done .

You Must See This Book To Truly Appreciate It

You must truly see this book to appreciate it. It is massive. It is an exceptionally quality publication and profusely illustrated with an over abundance of commentary of many of the Bond crew throughout the series. It is incredible. Some of the photos, the comments and the graphics are so endearing, especially for the earlier Bond films. This is the one book that BOND fans who have been with the series for many years (at least like I have, and there are many of you) MUST have.

I really like the coverage of ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE. I was once told by author John Griswold (Ian Fleming's James Bond: Annotations and Chronologies for Ian Fleming's Bond Stories) that Cubby Broccoli had been so disillusioned with many of the Bond fans who had been petitioning to get George Lazenby back, that he instructed Pinewood to empty the vaults of all non-essential documents and media pertaining to ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE. It remains one of the most talked about Bonds of the series.

You get the sense that the author definitely sees Sean Connery and Roger Moore as the two actors who defined the James Bond series and this is somewhat a homage to their efforts. Don't let this book get by you. It truly is a required Bond book.

OMG! 600 pages and 15 pounds of Bond just arrived! I'm in love!

This book is amazing! It arrived in a rather plain cardboard "suitcase-style" slipcase with a plastic handle, but WOW the book itself is beautiful! I actually weighed it as soon as it came out of the shipping box because it was so heavy. It is huge - 12" x 16.5" x 2"!

There is no paper jacket, but because of the size and heft of this tome, it would probably be difficult to keep one on undamaged. The book's cover lookes like red pebble-grained snakeskin or lizard and the inside front and back cover pages are copies of a shooting schedule from "From Russia With Love". The pages are high-quality glossy paper and there seems to be something on just about every page, that's why I count 600 as opposed to the 592 stated. One page has a little plastic pocket containing a filmstrip of 12 original frames from a Dr. No. original 35mm print.

I am glad to see that all of the movies from Dr. No to Skyfall are included as well as Never Say Never Again. Other reviewers have complained that much of the book is taken from DVD special features. Well, I like having a choice to either watch the features or read them. Many photos are included that have not been released elsewhere.

I haven't looked much beyond the first few pages because this is the kind of book I love to consume a small serving at a time - to savor like a fine Port. For anyone who is a Bondophille, your Bond collection is not complete without The James Bond Archives.

The links with theories of learning based on conditioning in animals are also explored, particularly the practical implications of such work for the modification of habits and the treatment of emotional disorders. The methods of Artificial Intelligence and Connectionist models of memory based on Parallel Distributed Processing approaches to cognition are considered. The second strand of the book is rather less conventional, approaching the analysis of human memory by starting with the problems people encounter in the world, and using these to motivate an interest in the study of memory in the laboratory. The third strand that runs through the book is concerned with the breakdown of memory in brain-damaged patients. In addition to work on amnesic patients "Human Memory" uses neuropsychological data in order to demonstrate the everyday importance of memory, and includes detailed description of individual patients with memory deficits of various types. The account covers both the theoretical implications of the various deficits and the light they throw on the importance of memory in everyday life. Finally the question is raised of how psychology can help the patients using specific case histories to illustrate the range of single-case and group treatment designs that are now being applied. The book is aimed at a university or college student taking a course in human memory, but assumes that memory lies at the centre of cognition. Consequently the links between memory and attention, perception, action and emotion are stressed, making it a useful core text for a more general course on cognitive psychology. "Human Memory" aims to teach aspects of human learning and memory that will be useful to readers both in understanding their own memory, and in providing a background for a range of possible subsequent courses which might involve education, law, medicine or any of a range of social sciences.

As well as having an impressive list of contents, the book is also extremely enjoyable to read. The author deals with complex issues in an approachable and understandable way and the style is chatty and free of confusing jargon. This is complemented by a liberal sprinkling of anecdotes which both inform and amuse. To summarise, this is an excellent book with no serious rivals in its field. This book presents a highly readable summary of cognitive psychology as related to memory. Covering the evolution of theories of distinct types of memory, the interconnectedness of learning, knowledge and memory, as well as related topics, the connectionist approach to memory, the phenomenon of amnesia and other memory-problems, Baddeley manages to convey a feeling for historical and recent scientific research on the entire subject. Cheyne Curry was born in Vermont, raised in New York and spent a majority of her adult life being bicoastal. She has lived in Monterey, Pebble Beach, Ventura, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Studio City and Palm Springs, California as well as spent time in Alabama, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Delaware and Italy. Most of her work experience is law-enforcement related. She was a Military Police officer in the US Army, a civilian police officer, a federal police officer, a civilian correctional officer, a private investigator, a surveillance agent, and in entertainment security management. Cheyne, a drummer and rhythm guitarist, currently spends her time writing books, sketching, composing music and writing screenplays for short films, some of which can be viewed at her website: www.cheynecurry.com She now lives in the Midwest with her wife, Brenda, and their 3 fur kids, Liam, a shepherd-mix, Mesa, a black mouth cur and Belladonna Bossy Pants, a neurotic black cat who runs the house. Curry delivers

Clandestine could be a standard romance of rich girl meets poor girl of her dreams and off they go happily ever after. Curry is a better writer than that however. She knows how to present her characters to create just the effect that she wants and that keeps them interesting. Tia could easily be a character that the reader doesn't like, but, instead she comes off as a "Sad Sack" who deserves a break. Jody is almost too innocent in her view of the world, but when juxtaposed against her mother and her husband, she becomes a sterling example of a human being. Curry doesn't pull her punches either. Jody's mother and husband come off as being just as vicious and double-dealing at the end of the book as they appear from the first. There is no softening of the characters to redeem them. Curry creates a story that is a romance with a little adventure in it and some really despicable characters who are trying to thwart the lovers. That leaves the reader cheering for her main characters.

Clandestine is an interesting book to read. The main characters are appealing, the pacing is right and it holds the reader's attention. Those are all of the ingredients for an entertaining experience.

Ready for a sequel.

Ready for a sequel. But also happy with the one I got.

Curry took a simple premise and drove it down a complex road. Her characters are always damaged goods who you come to take on as friends. This story could have been a 400-word sidebar in a newspaper-- but in the hands of a master such as Curry, we get a wonderful complex story with tension, hooks, and subterfuge. Once again, Curry delivers the full-meal deal; and adds some dessert.

In Brighter Brains, Hank Pellissier has brought together a lot of useful information about the brain that most people just don't know. The book is filled with many great ideas on how to improve and hurt IQ. In the age where neuroscience has discovered the plasticity of our brains, a book like this is important and fascinating reading.

The book is informative but it could have been better. It has some good information but its lacking a clear description about how to increase your IQ. It is like a research paper on IQ, I wouldn't call it a real book. Anyway for the price, you can't beat the info. Hope that helps.

It would probably take something the size of the Encyclopedia Britannica to fully explain the persona, the personality, and the phenomenon of NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman, but Dan Bickley, a staff writer for the Chicago Sun-Times, at least gets a fast break on the explanation in No Bull: The Unauthorized Biography of Dennis Rodman. The Rodman that emerges from Bickley's search is intriguing, less a colorful clown of the court than a complex antihero who--from broken-home childhood to Madonna worship to photographer-kicking, wedding-dress-wearing rebounder extraordinaire--has lived his life above the rim and consistently marched to the sound of a drummer so different that no one else could even hear the beat. "I'm not a role model," Rodman readily admits, "I'm a figment of your imagination." In No Bull, that figment is fleshed out with some solid, three-dimensional reportage, interpretation, and analysis.

Bickley, a writer for the Chicago Sun-Times, offers an exasperated overview of the controversial Rodman's life, concentrating on the power forward's recent career and off-court hijinks. It's a brisk narrative, enlivened by quotes (many of them tackily highlighted in large type) from Rodman's colleagues and ertswhile friends. The problem is that those fascinated by Rodman's perpetual jousting with Chicago Bulls management, the cross- dressing, the very public affair with Madonna, and the on-court antics (head-butting an official, kicking a photographer) are likely to remain unswayed by Bickley's contention that Rodman, far from being out of control, has been deftly manipulating the media and fans, while those likely to agree with him would find this expos‚ unnecessary. An excellent source on the "Bad Boy"

This book was awesome. I have read just about all of the sports books out there and I liked the way this one got right down to the basics of Dennis, his life, his childhood, and how he became what he is today. It laid out for me how all the events in his life lead to his present self. Furthermore, the author doesn't attempt to over-analyze Dennis on his own, but rather gives you all the info to let you form your own opinion. I wish all the sports bio's were written like this!!!
