About the Author
Jonathan Steinberg is Walter H. Annenberg Professor of Modern European History and former Chair of the Department of History at the University of Pennsylvania, and an Emeritus Fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge. He gave the biennial Leslie Stephen Lecture on 25 November 1999 at Senate House, University of Cambridge, with the title 'Leslie Stephen and Derivative Immortality'. He was the principal author of The Deutsche Bank and its Gold Transactions during the Second World War (1999). He is also the author of Yesterday's Deterrent: Tirpitz and the Birth of the German Battle Fleet (1965), All or Nothing: The Axis and the Holocaust, 1941-43 (1990) and Bismarck: A Life (2011), which was shortlisted for both the BBC Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction (2011) and the Duff Cooper Prize (2012).

About the Author:
Barbara Rossi is Professor of Painting and Drawing at The School Institute of Chicago. She is a distinguished artist whose own paintings, drawings, and prints have been exhibited nationally and internationally and appear in numerous museum collections. She first traveled to India in 1983 and returned in 1986 as an Indo-American Fellow and in 1989 as an American Institute of Indian Studies Fellow, undertaking the research of Indian miniature and popular painting traditions that has led to this publication.

Nicole Faires is an adventurer, self-proclaimed eccentric, wife, and mother of three girls. She grew up in a semi-nomadic homeschooling family and spent her early years in rural Montana on a hobby farm where she raised chickens, grew her own food, learned to crochet, read out-of-print books by Masanobu Fukuoka, and dreamed of the Amish. Inspiring. But I have no idea what to do now.

This was the book that introduced me to permacuture. I had never even heard the term before, but stumbled upon it when I found this book at a local Barnes &Noble. The first third or so of the book introduces permaculture principles and the philosophy behind it. That alone is incredibly inspiring and maybe want to read more deeply. Unfortunately, I finished reading the book with little idea about how to begin. There are some areas that are somewhat helpful (e.g., section that explains an ideal permaculture garden), and it has some practical suggestions some suggestions, but I would really like to see a worksheet, or a how-to guide, or a bunch of case studies.

So, five stars for being inspiring, but 4 stars for practicality.

Pleasantly surprised to find this to be a good plot driven story

Pleasantly surprised to find this to be a good plot driven story. I expected a quick prison smut read. I'm glad it wasn't. As for the writing and the story, the story is okay, but does leave you wanting more in the end. The writing needs a bit of work. This is a book with a ton of telling and not much showing. It's light on dialog and most the time the author is just telling us what is going on. I'd like to have seen more of the story in the book and not just get told it happened. It was hard to build a emotional connection to the characters when they don't interact with dialog much. We are told what they do, but never really feel them together.

Being true to yourself can hurt

Great story and characters. I wonder if there will be a sequel. I think that it is very hard to hide your true self and be free. The unfortunate circumstances that led Matt to jail also led to him opening up to be who he really is. But of course he has a life with someone and he has to deal with that. I truly felt for Robbie and I hope that he gets some peace in his life.

This story brings you on a roller coaster ride of emotions from main characters then it leaves you with a question and no second book. I wouldn't recommend it if you like a defined ending. So disappointing, a good ending would have made this book perfect!

It's actually finished

Excellent ending to an interesting series. I hate if the last book in a series is a series of shoehorns for the writers next work. The story is complete for Seth but there is still room for more in the stories of the Red Bastards or Grimm.
