I love it!

This is my bible. I love the footnotes. I read it with my husband and son 1 chapter a night without the footnotes. We leave the footnotes for private studying or enjoying. I am really excited for the Spanish version in Kindle format because English is not my first language.
I still bought it in English in Isilo and also in Kindle. But I find Kindle a more friendly app for it. It is easier to highlight. I just really need it in Spanish.

I also read the Holy Word for Morning Revival in Kindle but It's not easy to swipe from one book to go to the verses and come back to keep reading in the other book again. I hope Kindle finds a easier way for this.
Anyway I am truly happy and satisfied with this bible version.

A Wonderful Bible, A Must Have!

If you are seeking a Bible that is easy to read, and has wonderful footnotes by two people Witness Lee and Watchman Nee both of which have given their lives to the study of the Word of God, then this is the Bible for you! The footnotes provide so much content and help you to understand what that particular passage's meaning conveys and how it ties in with the rest of the Bible and God's plan! This version of the Bible makes you want to study longer, and you will enjoy every minute of it! How great is that!

So if you are serious about studying the Word of the Lord God, and you are looking for an easy Bible to understand without compromising it's meaning, then this is the Bible for you. Perhaps however, you just want to have a Bible that you can just pick up to read and enjoy it, like you would a great novel, then this is also the Bible for you. One more note, you don't have to be recovering from anything to own it! I was given a copy of the New Testament recovery version, from a wonderful friend. I enjoyed it so much, I wanted to know if they had published one Bible with both Old and New Testaments. I love studying the Word of God, and I am so happy that I have this in my library.

Jon Hop tops himself once again in his 4th installment of the "So You Want to Play Go?" series. Aimed at dan-level players, Hop illustrates advanced topics with pristine clarity, making the reader wonder, "Why haven't I realized before how simple this concept was?"

It's hard to believe that such a feat is possible in teaching dan-level techniques in Go, but Hop's approach is a winner: he illustrates exactly the points that dan-level players need to learn in real game scenarios. The audience of this book are already familiar with the fundamentals taught in earlier parts of the series, and Hop's teaching technique not only explains advanced topics through real-life games, but also leaves the reader with the know-how for analyzing and learning new advanced topics from their own games.

Before reading the book, I would review my games from time to time, but O didn't always know what to look for in my games. The sheer number of examples that Hop goes through in his book gave me the practice I needed to learn how to review my games the right way - and to learn new things every time.

The icing on the cake is the joseki that Hop teaches yough throughout the journey of reading his book. Playing on a server like KGS, it's not uncommon to see the same kind of joseki time and time again. Hop refreshes the reader by showing new, state-of-the-art joseki that you don't often see in low-dan level games.

If you have no interest in improving your game, and if you don't want to push yourself to learn something new, don't read this book. But if you want to be a high-dan player, Hop's book can take you there. And, you'll have a fun time along the way!

This book held my interest from start to finish. Usually,
I can almost write the ending of most books, but not this time.
I literally could not put this book down. The twists and turns
were so unexpected,that I was left gasping for breath.
I wish that the book was longer, because this writer really
captured my interest and left me wanting more.
I hope that there will be another book by this new author soon.
I can't wait for her next book!

Excellent Historical Fiction

This is an excellent book about Egypt during the invasion of Napoleon. Lots of good history on how Egypt transitioned from the era of the Mamluk's. Anyone interested in the Middle East will love this book. A lot of good romance and action on top of it.

About the Author
William F. Lindgren is a Professor of Mathematics at Slippery Rock University. He is the author of Quasi-Uniform Spaces (1982) with Peter Fletcher and has given many talks about Flatland at various conferences, including the Joint Meetings of the AMS/MAA.

Thomas F. Banchoff is a Professor of Mathematics at Brown University. He is the author of Beyond the Third Dimension and Linear Algebra Through Geometry (with John Wermer) and the editor of a reprint of Henry P. Manning's The Fourth Dimension Simply Explained.

A Treasure!

Edwin A. Abbott's "Flatland" finally receives its due in this wonderful book. I hope very much that this annotated edition by Lindgren and Banchoff edition will spread interest far and wide, and will increase appreciation for its many aspects. I now believe that every student--and we are all students--should have the full experience of "Flatland," and this edition provides clear access to it. I often found myself happily wondering about possible alternatives to their suggestions; in other words, I was drawn in completely, though I have read "Flatland" many times and consider myself an honorary Flatlander.

Abbott's text appears on every left hand page; the annotations occur on the opposite, right hand page. "Flatland" has long served as a way of entry to higher-dimension geometries, and as a satire of Victorian mores. While attending to these elements (and doing in much more detail that other commentators), Lindgren and Banchoff explore the likenesses to Plato's cave with unprecedented thoroughness, and provide geometric diagrams and descriptions on many levels that will aid those readers who are "geometrically challenged" and that will engage mathematicians as well. Historical, cultural, and political notes abound as well.

The notes are not "explanations." Rather, they are ways of increasing enjoyment and of posing questions concerning the nature and limits of human imagination that anyone can enter, and that everyone can learn from and savor.

A Fairly Exhaustive Set of Footnotes

I first read Flatland in high school or junior high, finding it a fun little fantasy, though at the time I didn't grasp all the satire within it -- my interest was focused on the allusions to higher dimensions. This edition of the book is just about as thorough an annotated analysis of the novel's text as one could imagine -- indeed, the comments come so fast and furious that I question whether this is the best way to first encounter Edwin Abbott's little gem. I agree with at least one other reviewer that the format -- original text on the left page and notes on the right page -- is so distracting that reading it smoothly becomes a real challenge. Of course, just the sheer number of footnotes, regardless of placement, would slow things down. I suggest finding another edition for your maiden read, then come back to this one to get a full appreciation of the text. The annotation here is a thorough and admirable accomplishment.

Lindgren and Banchoff make Flatland reach new heights

I had read Flatland as part of my high school geometry class in 1960 and had recently recommended it to my grandsons. I thought that I should re-read it to discus it with them. The commentary by Lindgren and Banchoff really opened up the full ramifications of Abbott's original intent as a social commentary and it expanded my interpretation of this classic work.

The specific comments placed across from each page of Abbott's text is a superb method for increasing our understanding of the multiple interpretations of Abbott's wit and wisdom.

Decent Reference Book

This might be the only engineering text you'll ever see that is HAND-LETTERED! Yes, Octave Levenspiel's famously neat handwritting is present on almost every page, and that includes the graphs and figures. Besides the novelty value, the Omnibook is a fairly decent reference book. Don't try to learn reaction engineering from this book alone; equations and concepts are simply applied and are not derived or developed in any way whatsoever. This can lead to some confusion if you haven't brushed up recently on the basic concepts. If you know the concepts but can't exactly remember how to apply them, then it works great. It also makes a fine supplement to either Levenspiel's _Chemical Reaction Engineering_ or the (slightly superior, in my opinion) _Elements of Chemical Reaction Engineering_ by Fogler.

You will not find a better buy for $30.

All text and diagrams are handwritten and are centered around showing the reader what questions to ask. You will be hard pressed to find a more intuitive and essential start to learning about different methods of chemical conversion.

Missing Chapters

I think the Omnibook is a great text, very clear and very helpful in a subject that can be overwhelming (for me, at least). I love that it is hand written and full of diagrams.

Unfortunately, my copy of this book seemed to be missing chapters. My classmates all had different editions of the book, and theirs seemed to have more chapters that my book skipped over entirely. If I had to do it again, I'd just pay full price at the campus bookstore to get the complete version.

At Least She Had A Ghostwriter This Time

Let me preface this review by saying I can't stand Farrah. I love to hate her.

This book was much better written than her memoir, which really doesn't say much but at least the writing was intelligible this time. It's pretty obvious that Farrah had a ghostwriter or a lot of help. Farrah can hardly form a coherent sentence when she speaks.

The book is an unabashed trip for Farrah's over-sized ego. Farrah, er Fallon, is beautiful. Everyone is jealous of her beautiful face, tan skin, perfectly sculpted body, and in the end, how great she "performs" on camera (I'm not joking!). It's ridiculous. All we really know about Fallon/Farrah is that she's super pretty and awesome, nothing is ever her fault, the media portrays her negatively, and everyone-her friends, family, lovers-uses her. We never really get below the surface of Fallon/Farrah and I suspect this is due to the fact that there's really not much there to Farrah the person. She's superficial, petulant, self-righteous and pretty dumb. She's all appearances and surfaces, there is no depth to her.

Farrah uses this book to vindicate herself in the aftermath of her porno. She trashes everyone: the porn company, her costar, her family and friends. It all turns out in the end that Fallon/Farrah was basically tricked into making the porno by her sketchy agent (who she oddly never met until the porno filming). Kanity, the producer of the porno, is of course just jealous of Fallon/Farrah because Kanity had wanted a career in porn but wasn't good enough. Kanity is jealous of Fallon/Farrah and her ability to "perform" better than any professional porn actress.

Fallon/Farrah's costar is given a similar treatment but at times the way he's written is a bit confusing.Obviously for Farrah this is her revenge at James Deen. She gives him "anal" cancer!

Fallon/Farrah gets sent to rehab at the end of the book. Of course she's immediately told by her therapist that she doesn't need to be there.

Fallon/Farrah made a huge deal about using protection during the filming of the porno. This is interesting since Farrah didn't use protection in her actual porno and proceeded to fake a pregnancy scare for media attention.

I could go on forever about this but I won't. If you love Farrah you'll probably like this book. If you love to hate Farrah, like me, this will be an entertaining diversion. All in all this further cements my belief that Farrah is a petty, shallow person.

For extra laughs, be sure to read the about the author part at the end. Farrah is described as The Top Reality Star and describes the God awful album released with My Teenage Dream Ended as "therapeutic music singles!" Therapeutic? I don't think so!

My curiosity got the best of me...

I admit I just had to see if this girl could do something right for once. Well she can't. This book is pretty much everything you have heard about her in all that gossip rags made into a book. I'm ashamed that the CEO of Ellora's Cave went so far as to write a 4 page excuse in defense of the author, basically saying if we don't like the book it's because we are wrong to have a poor opinion of the author. I'm upset I spent money on this piece of garbage when I should have known better. The main character is a vain, self absorbed, immature girl who thinks that everyone either wants her or wants to be her. Don't waste you time.

The saga goes on!

This collection contains three tales following the adventures of Ultramarines captain Uriel Ventris and Sargeant Pasanius, plus a small comic book and a short story (Eye of Vengeance).

I appreciated the first novel: The Killing Ground, for it placed our protagonist away from your typical war situation and in a far more personal (and smaller) scenario than what is common for an Adeptus Astartes. Courage and Honour, the second novel, chronicles a conflict between the Space Marines and the alien Tau in a familiar setting. While the third and final novel, The Chapter's Due shows the reader all-out war on a planetary scale between the Iron Warriors traitor legion and the Ultramarines.

The Killing Ground was my favorite, quite frankly, for the reason already mentioned. Graham McNeill's writing skills have improved considerably and he is able to deliver amazing action sequences, particularly in the battles of the second novel. The Chapter's Due is more epic in scale and follows the viewpoints of multiple characters, such as that of the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, Marneus Calgar, and 2nd company Captain Cato Sicarius.

Reading the first Omnibus isn't mandatory but you'll be left wondering how Uriel and Pasanius came to be, so reading it first is recommended.

Veredict: A must-read for Ultramarines fans. 40k fans will have a good time.

I liked the first omnibus better!

There's not really much I can say other than I found the first omnibus more to my liking. The battle with the necrons, tyranids, and the civil war in a chaos world just seemed way more gripping than the settings in the second one. In the second omnibus, the first book's main antagonists are a bunch of ghosts trapped by one man's rage...I liked necrons better. The second book entails the attempted takeover of Pavonis by the Tau, but I think Tyranids are way more intense to read about....plus I'm one of those "heretics" who kinda like the Tau. I didn't make it to the third book, but all I can say is definitely read the first one before you read this one!!!

The Second Omnibus is even better than the first. I found the author's introduction to be spot on. He does an excellent job of building the scope of these three books, and the writing is even better. I'm very impressed with the Ultramarine series in total.

I do worry about the Captain of the 2nd Company. You can see a fall building for him.

Must, must get for a WH 40K fan. Would definitely recommend for any science fiction/military fiction fan.
